Villa Basileia Riverside in the Prestigious Gault & Millau “Stay & Dine” Selection
We are delighted to announce that Villa Basileia Riverside in Karlovy Vary has been newly included in the special blue edition of the guide – Stay & Dine.
Gault & Millau accolades are no stranger to us. For the second year running, our fine dining restaurant, Le Marché, has been awarded two toques. This year, however, our accommodation services have also received this prestigious recognition.
About Gault & Millau
bout Gault & Millau Founded in Paris in 1969, Gault & Millau is one of the world’s most respected gastronomic guides. It is renowned for its strict scoring system and emphasis on ingredient quality and creativity. While its classic “yellow” edition rates restaurants, the blue “Stay & Dine” section recommends destinations where an exceptional gastronomic experience is combined with outstanding accommodation.
What Do the Critics Say?
We deeply appreciate the review, which highlights not only our services but also the unique atmosphere of the villa. You can read the full review on the Gault & Millau website, but here are the highlights:
“On the banks of the Teplá River, we discover a charming 19th-century villa, the former summer residence of Countess Schaumburg-Lippe, transformed into an elegant hotel. Villa Basileia charms with its tranquil location, tucked away from the busy center yet just a few minutes’ walk from the spa colonnades and thermal springs.”
The guide further praises our “sensitive renovation that has preserved the spirit of the original aristocratic residence” and our stylishly furnished rooms with river views. Naturally, our connection to the restaurant is also mentioned: “The biggest draw is the experiential restaurant Le Marché, ranked among the best gastro spots in this spa town.”
We thank the commissioners for including us in this prestigious selection and for recognizing the quality of our services. A huge thank you also goes to you, our guests, for your continued patronage.
